What is SCRIP?

SCRIP is a prepaid gift card fundraiser program. An organization called Great Lakes Scrip Center buys large quantities of discounted SCRIP gift cards from over 300 merchants nationwide. They, in turn, sell them to nonprofit organizations, like OLA at a discount (rebate).

How does it work? 

Individuals purchase the SCRIP gift card for full face value. Then a percentage of the purchase price is returned to OLA.  OLA will then credit 50% of the rebate back to your child’s tuition/ 

Example: MC purchases a $100 LL Bean cards. The cost to you is $100, and OLA gets 15% or, in this case, $15 back! Then, at the end of the year you receive $7.50 as a tuition credit! Basically, free money!

When you use the shopwithscrip website, you can go onto the website and print up a Family Order Rebate Summary report for the year that will provide your total scrip rebates.

What do I have to do?

Use SCRIP instead of cash or credit cards to buy your food, gas, clothing, gifts and restaurant expenses.

You may also choose to use the SCRIP cards to pay off your current store credit card balance.

Example: If you have a balance on your LL Bean credit card, you can purchase an LL gift card through SCRIP and use that to pay your balance.

How do I make a purchase?

Go to www.shopwithscrip.com to create an account and log in

Click on shop from the top menu and start your shopping

Once you’re done shopping, go to your cart and check out

You will be prompted for the payment method, select check to coordinator or Presto-Pay (bank account debit).

Print order confirmation, select how you would like your cards delivered, and forward to OLA Scrip Coordinator at OLA School Office along with check payable to "OLA" for total due in envelop marked Shop with Scrip.

Where do I get my purchase?

Purchased cards will be delivered based upon your response on the order confirmation form.

Gift card orders can be picked up at the school office during drop off and pick up.

What is the turnaround time?

Orders are placed each Monday morning at 9am to be ready for pick up on Friday.  If you are paying with PrestoPay, you may order right up until the 9am cutoff for same week delivery.  If you are paying by check your order requires additional processing and will be placed with the next order.

Are there any additional fees?

There is a nominal fee of $0.15 for PrestoPay but you will see it is well worth the convenience of not having to write checks. 

If there is a need for a “Rush” shipping, that option is available for increased cost that may be passed on to you so use that option wisely.
